GDVN – Vien Dong College is the only exemplary representative from the private college sector selected to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

Vien Dong College (Ho Chi Minh City) has the honor of being the only exemplary representative from the private college sector nationwide selected by the Ministry of Education and Training to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress. This is the clearest testament to the quality of training and the relentless efforts of the college’s faculty and students over the years.

Accordingly, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai – Principal of Vien Dong College – was honored to be invited by the Central Committee for Emulation and Reward to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, held from December 26–27, 2025 in Hanoi. The event included meaningful activities such as paying tribute at President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, attending the welcoming art program, participating in the official Congress, networking with exemplary role models, Heroes of Labor and National Emulation Fighters, and listening to guidance from the General Secretary and the Prime Minister launching the emulation movement for the 2026–2030 period.

The Principal’s presence at this major event is not only an important milestone affirming the prestige of Vien Dong College on Vietnam’s education map, but also a shared pride of the college’s administrators, lecturers, and students. It is vivid evidence of training quality and the dedication of the institution’s leader, who continues to steer Vien Dong College forward and align it with the country’s development.

The position of a “leading pioneer” in vocational education

The National Patriotic Emulation Congress is a significant political event that honors outstanding collectives and individuals, including Heroes, Emulation Fighters, and exemplary role models from patriotic emulation movements nationwide.

Vien Dong College’s selection by the Ministry of Education and Training as the representative of private colleges to attend the Congress strongly affirms its superior training quality, positive contributions to society, and the enhanced prestige of its brand. The institution has consistently demonstrated the right direction in training high-quality human resources with a “practical learning – practical career” approach, while continuously striving in emulation movements for effective teaching and learning, scientific research, and community service.

Sharing with reporter from Vietnam Education Electronic Magazine, teacher Tran Thanh Hai – Principal of Vien Dong College expressed deep honor and pride that the college was the sole representative from the private college sector and also one of only two institutions among a total of 406 public and private colleges nationwide selected as exemplary models in the vocational education sector to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

According to Mr. Hai, this recognition is the result of many years of persistent and continuous efforts by the college’s faculty and staff, marked by solidarity, innovation, and constant quality improvement. It is also the result of close attention, support, and guidance from leaders of the vocational education sector in the past, as well as current leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, who have consistently accompanied and facilitated the college’s sustainable development and affirmed its position within Vietnam’s education system.

The title of “Exemplary Model” is not only a meaningful reward for the collective efforts of the leadership, lecturers, staff, and thousands of students of Vien Dong College, but also a strong motivation for the institution to continue striving and maintaining its leading role within the private vocational education sector. Vien Dong College brings a spirit of innovation, creativity, and enthusiasm to the Congress, while continuing to spread the patriotic emulation spirit through practical actions in vocational education and training.

The faculty team continuously enhances their professional development to ensure competence in modern technologies and production processes, meeting training requirements in the new era.

It is also noted that on November 17, the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education (Ministry of Education and Training) officially issued Decision No. 165/QD-GDNNGDTX approving the list of colleges eligible for assessment and recognition as high-quality colleges in 2025. Meeting all stringent evaluation criteria, Vien Dong College is among the 10 institutions nationwide approved to undergo assessment and recognition as a high-quality college in 2025, further affirming its status as a trusted destination for parents and students.

Continuing the journey of “Pioneering – Innovation – Development”

Sharing future orientations to further affirm the role and position of vocational education institutions in the context of reform and integration building on past achievements, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai stated that today’s results stem from a vision and mission continuously adjusted to meet practical demands.

The college identifies increased investment in equipment for practical workshops and skills training rooms – ensuring close alignment with enterprise-level technologies – as a key mission.

Specifically, technological development, especially artificial intelligence (AI), is having a profound impact on education and training. In vocational training, the traditional priority order of knowledge – skills – attitude has shifted: skills are now placed first, followed by knowledge, while attitude remains important. With strong skills, vocational students can independently update their knowledge through social platforms, especially in a context where knowledge evolves rapidly. This approach has enabled Vien Dong College to supply high-quality human resources to 18 industrial parks and export processing zones in Ho Chi Minh City.

Moreover, to facilitate enterprises in accepting interns and recruiting graduates, learners must be equipped with solid foundational knowledge and proficient hands-on skills in workshops and laboratory-based training systems from their time in school. When students meet these requirements, enterprises are willing to cooperate and receive them, thereby enhancing the college’s reputation and brand.

From these practical demands, the college continues to identify increased investment in workshop and skills-training facilities closely aligned with enterprise technologies as a key mission. In parallel, the faculty is continuously trained to keep pace with modern technologies and production processes, meeting training requirements in the new period.

Finally, the college places strong emphasis on enhancing foreign language and IT competencies for both lecturers and students, considering them “keys” to expanding international cooperation and joint training programs with partners from countries such as Germany, Austria, South Korea, Australia, and the United States. In practice, international exchange programs for lecturers and students are implemented regularly each year and have delivered tangible results.
