The Meeting Between Vien Dong College and Mirai Labor Union
about Future Cooperation

Vien Dong College welcomed 17 delegates from MIRAI Labor Union to the campus and held a meeting with them at 10:00 AM, on June 10th, 2017.

3 members from the School Board attended the meeting.

  • Ms. Phan Thi Le Thu, M.A., Vice-Rector
  • Ms. Luu Thi Net, M.A., Dean of Nursing Faculty
  • Mr. Kazama, Senior Japanese Lecturer

To give MIRAI a clear overview of nurse training at Vien Dong College, Ms. Luu Thi Net introduced the school’s nursing information. The nurse training period lasts from 2.5 to 3 years. Students are encouraged to work or to study at higher levels in Japan so that they can enhance their skills and knowledge. The school has many cooperation agreements with other organizations and makes conditions for students to study Japanese so that they can work or continue studying in Japan.

Ms. Phan Thi Le Thu, the Vice-Rector said “We have welcomed many organizations to make opportunities for nursing students to go to Japan. We feel more reassured to work with SOVILACO, a state-own company which we have had a chance to meet before. In order to choose prestigious organizations for cooperation, Vien Dong College hopes to know the cooperation plans, conditions and supports for students to work and study, as well as the quality of training programs. At present, there are 350 nursing students divided into small groups to practice at the school and hospitals. They have plans to go to Japan, and must get N5 in Japanese to graduate”.

Delegates of MIRAI were from 5 organizations, including 2 labor agencies and 3 nursing companies. They visited Vien Dong College with the aim to observe and know about nursing and elder caring at the school. According to a representative from MIRAI, there are many old people in Japan. They come to healthcare and hope other people concern of them as their family members do because Japanese young people do not have much time to take care of them. They may have dementia. Therefore, these centers require their employees to understand the old people. Students should study Japanese as much as possible to be capable to take care of them. Delegates from MIRAI also hope students to go to Japan and study how to take care of patients and old people. Then, they can go back to Vietnam to work.

After the interesting discussion, delegates from MIRAI visited the nursing faculty of Vien Dong College.
