In an article published today on Thanh Nien Newspaper regarding the 2025 admission situation, Master Phan Thi Le Thu – Vice Principal of Viễn Đông College – shared that in previous years, the health and pharmacy sectors only met the enrollment quotas, but this year, the situation has improved noticeably in the first enrollment period. The majors attracting the most students include automotive technology, nursing, general medicine, pharmacy, business administration, information technology, electrical engineering, and graphic design.
The number of students trained in tourism and hospitality is insufficient to meet business recruitment demands.
Companies ‘hunt’ for talents as soon as students enroll
Instead of waiting until students graduate, many businesses begin recruitment from the very first day of enrollment.
According to Master Lệ Thu, starting in 2025, students studying at Viễn Đông College will sign a tripartite employment guarantee agreement between the college – parents – enterprises. As a result, businesses provide support to students right from their enrollment. “At the Open Day event last July, Đông Phương Group signed an agreement with students majoring in the hotel and hospitality, ensuring job opportunities for students after graduation, or even while studying.” Master Thu shared.
In addition, many students enrolling in health-related sectors worry about job prospects. Master Lệ Thu mentioned that Children’s Hospital 2 (in Ho Chi Minh City) has committed to ensuring jobs for students. Master Phạm Lâm Lạc Thư, Head of the Nursing Department at Children’s Hospital 2, shared that after graduation, while students typically wait for their diplomas, the hospital only requires temporary certification to start their apprenticeships. During this period, they receive financial support without any additional costs.
Mr. Bùi Tiến Đạt, HR Director of Đông Phương Group, said students will receive vocational training at the company with a salary and additional training in customer service, market trends, and product services. “We don’t just take interns; we accompany students throughout their studies, not only providing vocational training but also handling theoretical instruction right at the company,” Mr. Đạt added.
Employment commitments after graduation for students between the college – parents – enterprises
A representative of Đèo Cả Group, one of the leading infrastructure and transportation corporations, shared that due to high labor demand, the company has cooperated with many universities and colleges nationwide. The company aims to recruit students for various positions, including accounting, HR, finance, automotive engineering, mechanics, electrical and electronic engineering, automation, etc.
