Vien Dong College is honored to have been a consistent co-organizer and sponsor of the Southern Region’s Young Informatics Contest for many years, affirming its role as a pioneering educational institution in IT training. In addition to providing facilities and technical support, the college has actively contributed to promoting innovation and digital transformation among students in the South and nationwide.
This year’s competition includes 9 divisions, covering topics such as algorithmic programming, mathematical–algorithmic thinking, and creative IT products, tailored for students from elementary to high school levels. This is an important intellectual platform that encourages students to develop logical thinking, creativity, and apply technology in daily life, contributing to the development of a future digital citizen generation.
At the opening ceremony, representatives from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union included:
Ms. Tran Huong Thao – Deputy Director, Center for Science, Technology and Youth Talent Development.
Representing the organizers, sponsors, and academic advisors were:
Mr. Tran Thanh Hai – Party Secretary and Principal of Vien Dong College.
Mr. Tran Nguyen Han – Director of Dai Duong Consulting and Training Co., Ltd. – the main sponsor.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Diep Cong Thanh – Director of the Center for Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, and Chair of the Southern Region Judging Panel.
From the IT field:
Mr. Vu Anh Tuan – General Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA), Director of Quang Trung Software Business Incubator.
Ms. Pham Thi Kim Phuong – Deputy Director of Quang Trung Software City Development Co., Ltd. (QTSC).
Also present were representatives of provincial youth teams, southern city youth unions, journalists, parents, teachers, and over 800 contestants representing tens of thousands of IT-loving students in the region.
In his remarks, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Principal of Vien Dong College, shared:
“We are entering an era where digital transformation is the key driver in all fields. The National Young Informatics Contest is a place to nurture technological talents, ignite passion, creativity, and a spirit of learning among the youth. As a long-term co-organizer and sponsor, Vien Dong College is proud to contribute to building a modern academic environment and spreading the spirit of technology to the student and teacher community in the South.”
Ms. Tran Huong Thao, representing the Central Youth Union, acknowledged the successful collaboration:
“This contest is a key activity in the strategy to develop young talents. We highly appreciate the strong and consistent support of Vien Dong College over the years. It’s an effective model of cooperation between the Youth Union and educational institutions, helping to build a generation of young intellectuals capable of mastering technology and ready to integrate globally.”
Vien Dong College meticulously prepared more than 10 standard computer labs, a system of over 200 computers with modern technology equipment, and mobilized nearly 50 staff members, lecturers, and student volunteers to ensure the contest was held safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations.
In addition to sponsoring the organization and awards for the contest, Vien Dong College also presented gifts to contestants in both the Southern Regional Round and the National Finals. The total value of sponsorship exceeded 100 million VND.
