WORKSHOP “AGE PSYCHOLOGY, METHOD CHOICES, AND TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IN ENGLISH CLASSROOMS”

On August 26, 2025, the Department of Foreign Languages of Viễn Đông College participated in the workshop “Age Psychology, Method Choices, And Technology Integration In English Classrooms” organized by the Dai Truong Phat Education Group. The workshop provided lecturers and teachers with many new perspectives on age-appropriate English teaching methodologies, alongside updates on modern technological solutions to support teaching and learning.

WORKSHOP “AGE PSYCHOLOGY, METHOD CHOICES, AND TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IN ENGLISH CLASSROOMS”

During the presentations, the speakers emphasized the importance of understanding the learners’ psychology at each age to select appropriate teaching methods. Furthermore, the workshop introduced numerous widely adopted educational technology solutions, including i-Test, AI Teachermatic, AI Speaking, and LCMS, aimed at supporting assessment and evaluation while enhancing classroom interactivity. The event also featured an introduction to a system of English textbooks designed for children, teenagers, adults, and specialized purposes, helping to meet the increasingly diverse learning needs.

From the workshop, several key takeaways for current English language teaching practices can be drawn. Firstly, a deep understanding of the learners’ psychological characteristics was affirmed as the foundation for adjusting teaching methods to be appropriate and effective. Simultaneously, the workshop highlighted the inevitable trend of integrating technology into the foreign language teaching and learning process to increase interactivity and support personalized learning. Additionally, the program created an opportunity for lecturers and experts from various institutions to connect and exchange practical experiences.

Following the workshop, the Department of Foreign Languages proposes considering allowing visiting lecturers to pilot the i-Test platform in teaching and assessment, and to promote the application of AI tools to support students’ communication skills.
